Kyoto Remix
This work focuses on the revival of ‘dead’ photographic material that I have been finding and systematically collecting over 15 years at flea martkets, on eBay and generally on the internet. What all images (analog, digital, Ai-generated) have in common is that they are no longer needed. They are dead material that no longer has any use. These images are brought back to life using various photographic-technial processes. The medium of photography is reflected upon and critcally questioned as a fragile construct of reality. The subjective selection of images also plays an important role.
Which images should be given new life and which sholud not? What is important and what is not?
